Continuing Education Weekends & Workshops For Yoga Teachers & Dedicated Students
As a Registered Yoga School (RYS®), Vajra Pani Yoga meets continuing education contact hour requirements for Yoga Alliance. Hours can be obtained through any of the following workshops or intensives. Participation in individual weekends will be considered for experienced students only with a minimum of 2 years of regular practice and with permission of the training Director. Continuing Education Weekends
Except for the Immersion and the June weekend (see below), the training schedule is as follows:
Cultivating Tapas: Igniting the fire for a personal practice; interrelating and establishing a practice of Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation. Practicums: The Wisdom of Sequencing and the Elements of Personal Practice; Energy Anatomy w/Natalie Gougeon*: the Energetic/Spiritual/Psychological of the Chakras, Prana Vayus, and Gunas (Rajas, Tamas, and Sattva). Pranayama~ The Healing Power of Breath with Mona Therese Winston*. View History of Yoga Film: Yoga Unveiled: Evolution and Essence (2.25 hrs). Recite Sanskrit names. Yama Focus: Ahimsa
March 5-7:$395./weekend
Morning Asana Practices: Internal (Nuetral) and External Rotations in Postures.
Afternoon Sessions: Anatomy Intensives w/Kathleen Heller*: 1) “Physiological Basis of Transformation” and “Language of the Body”: Connective Tissue, Fascia, Respiration, and the Nervous System. 2) “Foundations for Alignment: Feet to Spine to Skull”.
Posture Clinics: Principles of Alignment; teaching internal rotations in standing poses, forward bends, twists, etc.Yama Focus: Satya
March 26-28:$395./weekend
Morning Asana Practices: Integrating Internal and External Rotations in Postures.
Afternoon Sessions: Anatomy Intensives w/Kathleen Heller*: 1) ”Balance and Fluidity through the central Axis: Pelvis to Spine to Skull.” 2) “Reflecting the Heart’s Intention through the Study of the Upper Limbs & Shoulder Girdle.”
Posture Clinics: Application of Alignment Principles; teaching external rotations in standing poses, backbends, inversions, etc.
Take home mid-term for 200-hour training certification - Due April 16.

April 23-25: $395./weekend
Morning Asana Practices: Active ~ Surya Namaskar, Backbends, Inversions and Hand Balances
Afternoon Sessions: Posture Clinic: Body Reading for Yoga Teachers & Using props and modifications with a focus on alignment, injury prevention, and working with common yoga injuries. View Films: Yoga Unveiled: Yoga as Therapy and Doing Time, Doing Vipassana (1 hr).
Ayurveda Intensive: Intro to Ayurveda w/Natalie Gougeon*; The 3 Doshas and 5 Elements; Diagnostic tools for determining your Doshas. Applications of Ayurveda - Daily Ayurveda, Health care, and lifestyle for individual constitutions; Asana and Pranayama for body types, conditions, & seasons.
Afternoon Sessions: Mid-term Review; Practicums: Mentoring Circle with Amy Cooper*including principles of Communication, Observation, Verbal Instruction, Adjustments and the language of Touch. Practice Teaching & Posture Clinics: Teaching Restorative Yoga, and sequences for Menses, Pregnancy, & Depression; Hands-on Adjustments. Yama Focus: Saucha & Santosha
Immersion weekend is open to all intermediate students, teachers, and past graduates of the Vajra Pani Yoga Teacher Training as space allows.

Sunday, May 23 – check-out is 1:30 pm.
-Thursday, June 10 – start 1-5 pm; 6-8:30 pm and
Friday, June 11 -Asana from 7-9 am followed by the usual weekend schedule.
Continuing Education Workshops
February 13, Saturday, 1:30-5 pm:Energy Anatomy with Natalie Gougeon
This workshop will encompass the Chakras, using meditative attention on each of their qualities and purpose, by sounding out their bija or sanskrit syllables. The functional attributes of the Prana Vayus will be presented and where they fit into the balance of mind and body. The Gunas: the Spiritual & Psychological yogic concepts of Rajas, Tamas, and Sattva will be explained, with a focus on applied, practical use of this knowledge in achieving a more positive, illumined life-experience. The practice of Meditation and Chanting is included as a way of transforming the mind and integrating the subtleties of these deeper teachings.
February 14, Sunday, 2-4 pm:Pranayama~ The Healing Power of Breath with Mona Therese Winston In this workshop you will come to understand the breath and how it influences your whole being, physically and mentally. Learn different kinds of breathing techniques (Pranayamas) to direct the life energy in your body to flow more effectively.
March 6 & 7, Saturday/Sunday, 12:30-4:30 pm: Anatomy Intensives with Kathleen Heller
Saturday: Physiological Basis of Transformation and the Language of the Body - Connective Tissue, Fascia, Respiration, and the Nervous System (relating to yoga practice).

April 24, Saturday 12-5 pm: Intro to Ayurveda with Natalie Gougeon
The 3 Doshas and 5 Elements; Diagnostic tools for determining your Doshas. Applications of Ayurveda - Daily Ayurveda, Health Care, and lifestyle for individual constitutions. In addition, workshop includes Asana and Pranayama for body/dosha types, conditions, and seasons.
May 8, Saturday 1-4:30 pm: Mentoring Circle with Amy Cooper
An opportunity for yoga teachers-in-training, Vajra Pani graduates, and teachers to bring questions on observing bodies and adjusting students for optimum communication and instruction. Deepen your skills and become more effective in "seeing" and teaching. This is a discovery oriented workshop.
May 20-23, Thursday-Sunday, Weekend Immersion at Buckhorn Springs in Ashland, Oregon
Focus onpractices - Asana, Pranayama, Philosphical inquiry, & Meditation - that support moving into stillness. Integrating the Yogic Principles of Pratyahara, Tapas, & Svadhyaya throughout the weekend.
Friday: Philosophical Self-inquiry & the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali w/Kristin Laak.
Sunday: Completion with a morning practice, then Brunch.
June 11, Friday, 1:30-4:30 pm: Leadership: Speaking From the Heart, a Non-Violent Communication (NVC) workshop with Joanne Lescher
In this workshop participants will learn the tools for conflict resolution, effective and compassionate interpersonal communication, compassionate listening and team building. These tools help participants identify and develop their inherent leadership abilities.
June 12, Saturday, 12-3 pm, The Art of Teaching Vinyasa Flow with Mona Therese Vinyasa Yoga is an ancient practice of physical and spiritual development. It is a systematic method of the study and practice of Yoga. Workshop focus: how to build and teach a safe and creative Vinyasa flow sequence with emphasis on the sacred teaching of synchronizing movement and breath and moving safely with a meditative state of mind. Workshop focus: * The parameters of Vinyasa Krama * The breath rate in a Vinyasa practice * Discuss safety concerns related to Vinyasa yoga * Building creatively through sequencing * Teaching short/Long sequences.
Workshop Fees:
3 - hour workshops: $35. ($30. for Vajra Pani Graduates)
Immersion at Buckhorn Springs: (see description above) Cost: $495. (3 nights)includes all Yoga & Sutras classes, Day-long Meditation retreat, double occupancy accommodations, and deliciously fresh vegetarian meals. Single occupancy rooms available for $585.
